Sir,
With the reference to the above subject, the Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Madurai letter was perused. The proposal to construct Check dam across Kottagudi river for providing additional drinking water facility was analysed in respect of Tiger corridor and I submit the following observations.
DSS- Decision support system available in www.ntca.gov.in was used in the analysis. The proposed project site falls within the tiger corridor as per the DSS mapping of Tiger corridors available in www.ntca.gov.in.
The corridor is between the Mathikettan shola National Park and Pambadum shola National Park of the state of Kerala.
The proposed project is an essential activity as it is intending to provide Drinking water to Bodi Municipality. The project

It is informed that as per DSS mapping of Tiger corridors available in www.ntca.gov.in the proposed project site falls within the Tiger corridor. The corridor is between the Mathikettan Shola National Park and Pambadam Shola National Park of Kerala state. Hence the User Agency is directed to get the clearance of National Board of Wildlife for obtaining prior approval under Forest Conservation Act, 1980.

, I submit that the User Agency was informed to apply for getting clearance from the National Board of Wildlife and accordingly the User Agency has submitted their proposal through online for seeking recommendation of standing committee of National Board of Wildlife. Currently the proposal is under review with the State Board of Wildlife and the TimeLine details of the proposal is enclosed herewith.
