This Construction of Retaining Wall is essential to ensure the safety and stability of the highways and there will not be any felling of tress in the proposed area and hence this proposal may be recommended on public interest.
VelloreCF Recommended I had inspected the proposed area on 06.01.2021 for diversion of total area of 0.47 ha of forest land comprising 0.2428 ha in Patrakkadu Reserved forest and 0.1614 ha in Veerappanur Reserved forest of Jamunamarathur Range of Tiruvannamalai Forest Division for the Construction of Retaining wall in various places of Polur –Jamunamarathur – Alangayam – Vaniyambadi road Km.33/2 – 36/10 SH215 of Jamunamarathur range in Tiruvannamalai Forest Division by the Divisional Engineer, Highways, Construction and Maintenance, Tiruvannamalai Division of Tiruvannamalai district. The retaining wall will be constructed adjacent to the existing road for safety of public and stability of the road. The Highways Department has stated that no existing trees will be disturbed and retaining wall will be constructed leaving the trees. Hence, this proposal is recommended in public interest. Yes
