The area proposed for the diversion to an extent of 0.89 ha of forest land for laying Underground OFC along Polur to Jamunamarathur road falls in 4 different Reserve Forests of Thiruvannamalai Forest Division. Since there are revenue area falls in between the road from Polur to Jamunamarathur road, it is subdivided in to 11 stretches. The entire length of the stretch will be 35.390 km. The 1st stretch of 3.440 km falls in Periyamalai Reserve Forest of Polur Range where as 2nd stretch of around 9.760 km falls in Moolakadu Reserve Forest of Polur Range. From 3rd stretch to 5th stretch, it falls in Pattaraikadu Reserve Forest of Jamunamarathur Range for a distance of 11.74 km. From 6th stretch to 11th stretch, it falls in Veerappanur Reserve Forest of Jamunamarathur Range for a distance of 10.45 km. The area was inspected by me on 20.07.2023. The proposed area falls outside the existing right of way and no tree felling is involved in the project. Further there is no rare, endangered, endemic flora and fauna in the proposed area. Hence this project may be recommended.
