Proposal No.FP/KL/HYD/11977/2015 Transmission line from Thottiyar Small Hydro Electric Project is for diversion of 0.7945Ha in Munnar division in Adimali and Neriamangalam Ranges. The line is passing through river bed and part of encroached forest land. The proposed diversion is the minimum required for the project. It does not affect any unique flora and fauna and not near any protected site. The project for dam and power house were already approved and works are in finishing stages. Now line for power evacuation is a must to make the project viable. This project will help add power to the grid with minimum disturbance to forest. Therefore the proposal for diversion of 0.7945 Ha Reserve forest is recommended. Compensatory non forest land is identified in Chinnakkanal Village which is an elephant habitat. Compensatory afforestation will be taken up in a degraded teak plantation in Erumely Range of Kottayam Division.
