The area proposed for diversion is 49.5904 Hacs. The project is linear and part of a bigger National project which include Z Morh and Zogilla tunnels meant for all season connectivity to Sonamarg and Ladakh. Earlier also around 170 Hacs of forest land in Sindh division has been diverted for these two tunnels. Since the project is of National Importance awarding all weather connectivity to Sonamarg and Ladakh. Also, this road may also be beneficial for the department in terms of better management of High Altitude forestry of Sonamarg and beyond. Detailed Recommendation report is uploaded.
