The project is recommended for approval under the Forest Conservation Act, 1980 as the proposed approach road is the only connecting link between Tunnel 14 and 15 which are being constructed for new railway line and the same is also an important part of disaster management plan. The approach road is part of the prestigious National Project i.e. Udhampur Srinagar Baramulla Rail Link Project USBRL Project which is a strategically a very important project and will provide railway connectivity to the far flung areas like Ind, Sangaldan, Sumber, Khari, Banihal etc of Ramban District besides other places of UT of Jammu and Kashmir. The approach road will also connect the far flung areas of Ind and other adjoining locations with the areas of the Reasi District.
