The existing Batote Khellani Kishtwar road is sinking at places in the catchment of Reservoir of Baglihar Dam. Further the landslides on the present Khellani Kishtwar road are usual. The new alignment of Khellani –Chatroo have to un avoidably pass through the proposed alignment to avoid landslides. The new alignment has been prepared which is a part of the up gradation of NH 244 which would further connect to Kishtwar valley through Doda, Kishtwar and Anantnag District. The Kishtwar District is being connected with existing National Highway which will redress the travel time in surrounding areas and would further promote the development of the area.
