The Proposal of diversion of Forest Land over 13.512 Ha 3 Divisions namely Darjeeling,Kurseong and Kalimpong Forest Division is meant for construction of Sivok Rangpo B G Rail Line. The area is having very vulnerable road connections and the construction of Rail Line shall improve the connectivity of the areas and in particular Sikkim which has the international Boarder with China. Strategically also this line is very important for National Security. The area proposed is bare minimum and having no other alternative land in the vicinity for the purpose the diversion of Forest Land is unavoidable. The undersigned recommends it strongly.
