6. Brief note on vulnerability of the forest area to erosion : The site is located in the banls of the river teesta, therefore this area is vulnerable to erosion

 (i). Details of wildlife present in and around the forest land proposed for diversion : Elephant, Indian Gaur, Leopard, Rufus necked hornbill
 (ii). Whether forms part of national park, wildlife sanctuary, biosphere reserve,tiger reserve, elephant corridor, wildlife migration corridor etc. : Yes
  Details and comments on the impact of Project on such areas : The identified site is in the edge of the Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary and is bounded by the NH-10 on one side and the Teesta river on the other side. There was no sign of usage of this area by mega herbivores. The present diversion is additional area for an already approved project. By the end of the project only a few area would be required for the approach road and the entrance to the Adit, the remaining area can be reforested. The impact of the project would be minimal
 (iii).
