Details and comments on the impact of Project on such areas :
The identified site is in the edge of the Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary and is bounded by the NH-10 on one side and the Teesta river on the other side. There was no sign of usage of this area by mega herbivores. The present diversion is additional area for an already approved project. By the end of the project only a few area would be required for the approach road and the entrance to the Adit, the remaining area can be reforested. The impact of the project would be minimal
