5. Working plan prescription for the forest land proposed for diversion : Working plan's Chapter VII "Soil and water conservation working circle" para 7.21 : Removal of Reverbed material (RBM) from River/Raus : The removal of RBM will be done either by the forest department itself or through forest development corporation. General guide line for RBM collection is given as follows : 1. Removal operation will be done by mannual means i.e. hand picking 2. Removal of RBM will be done from 1 October to 15 june. Removal oprations will not be carried out in monsson season under any circumstaces. 3. Removal of RBM should be restricted to the middle 50 percent of the river/rau. No removal should be done in the twenty five percent of both the banks. The basic aim is to stream line the terrential flow of water. 4. No mining operations will be done during removal of RBM. only collection from the river bed is allowed. 5. Adequate soil conservation measures will be taken up in the affected banks. preference of use of RBM will be given to construct these mechanical structures. 6. Removal of RBM should not be done in river/rau having less than 25 meter wildth. 7. Removal of RBM will be done under overall supervision of the DFO/Range officer. range officer will assess/estimate the quantity of RBM to be removed every year by 15th september. 8. Range Officer will also clearly demarcate the area from which RBM will be removed before removed before removal operation is allowed. 9. All the personnel engaged in the work will be registered at the range level. I will be ensured by him that the RBM collection is being done by engaging personnel from local community ony. Help of these people will be taken during fire season. 10. Removal of RBM by the local people for their personal use should be allowed as per their concessions & rights.
