1. I inspected the area on 29.09.2020 and found that the proposed linear area of 0.21 Ha for laying Pipe line falls within Kurichi Forest Block – I, II and III Reserved land. The area requested by the User Agency is in the edge of the north and eastern boundaries of the Kurichi Forest Block – I, II and III Reserved land. The extent of area is 700 m length, 3m width and the total area required is 0.21 Ha. There is no need to fell any trees for this project and it will not affect the flora and fauna of the area. Hence there is no negative impact on Forest and Wildlife. 2. The proposed area for diversion does not have any archeological and heritage related monuments. 3. There is no Tribal Right affected by this project. 4. Flagship species like tiger is not available in this Reserved Land. Hence there is no threat to major wildlife species. 5. This project in Kurichi Forest Block – I, II and III Reserved land has minimum effects on environment. Hence I recommend that an area of 0.21 Ha. of Forest land in the Kurichi Forest Block – I, II and III Reserved land in Madukkarai Range of Coimbatore Forest Division may be diverted for laying water pipe line along the northern and western boundaries of the Kurichi Forest Block – I, II and III Reserved land.
