The Executive Engineer, TWAD Board, RWS Division, Ranipet District. submitted a proposal for the diversion of 0.1584 Ha of Reserved Forest land in Koramangalam Reserved Forest for the laying of water supply pipeline for water supply improvement scheme Tiruttani Municipality via Koramangalam Reserved Forest under the jurisdiction of Tiruttani Range, Tiruvallur Forest Division, Tiruvallur District The proposed pipeline corridor is along public rights of way were admitted in the notification, One is The Right of way No.1 of S.No. 1/1 of Village No.9. Mambakkam the length of 120 meters width 6 meters and other is Right of way No.1 of S.No. 275/1 of Village No.9. Koramangalam Mambakkam Group the length of 1463.8 meters width 6 meters from Tiruttani to Sholinghur. It is proposed to lay the drinking water pipe line along the road brim to a length of 1584.20 meters 1463.80 meters +120.40 meters meters and 1.00 meters width. As the proposed pipe line laying is on the road brim there will be no felling / disturbance/loss to the vegetation. The proposed diversion of forest land to an extent of 0.15842 Ha 1584.20 sqm only in the bare minimum land highly essential to providing drinking water supply to Tiruttani holy town. As providing safe drinking water is a basic requirement and the proposed pipeline is along the road brim of right of ways. Hence, the diversion of 0.15842 Ha 1584.20 sqm of forest land in Koramangalam Reserve Forest is recommended.
