CoimbatoreCoimbatoreDFO Recommended1. I inspected the site on 06.01.2025 and found that the proposed linear area of 15.15 Ha for Utilizing the existing 230KV transmission corridor since 1965 – Conversion of Existing 230 KV SC line on SC Tower with Kundha Conductor into 400 KV Double Circuit line on Double Circuit Tower Twin HTLS ACCC Drake conductor from Kundha PH 3 Loc. 01 to 56 falls within Nellithurai Reserved Forests, Karamadai & Mettupalayam Ranges. 2. The proposed area for diversion does not have any archeological and heritage related monuments. 3. The project area contains of existing 230 KV SC line on SC Tower. Presently, the user Agency is proposed for Conversion of Existing 230 KV SC line on SC Tower with Kundha Conductor into 400 KV Double Circuit line on Double Circuit Tower Twin HTLS. And consists of 70 Nos. of naturally grown trees and these trees are to be pruned to maintain electrical clearance. None of the trees will be completely felled for this work. Flagship species like tiger is available in these Reserved Forests. Since, this linear project on the existing 230Kv transmission corridor, there is no threat to major wildlife species. Hence, I recommend that an area of 15.15 Ha. of Forest land in the Nellithurai Reserved Forests in Karamadai & Mettupalayam Ranges of Coimbatore Forest Division may be diverted for Utilizing the existing 230KV transmission corridor since 1965 – Conversion of Existing 230 KV SC line on SC Tower with Kundha Conductor into 400 KV Double Circuit line on Double Circuit Tower Twin HTLS.
