1. I inspected the area on 23.04.2021 and found that the proposed linear area of 0.0117 Ha for laying Pipe line falls within Jakkanari Reserved Forest. The extent of area is 117 m length, 1m width and the total area required is 0.0117 Ha. There is no need to fell any trees for this project and it will not affect the flora and fauna of the area. Hence there is no negative impact on Forest and Wildlife. 2. The proposed area for diversion does not have any archeological and heritage related monuments. 3. There is no Tribal Right affected by this project. 4. Flagship species like tiger is available in this Reserved Forest. But it is a work done in underground, it has no impact to major wildlife species. 5. This project in Jakkanari Reserved Forests has minimum effects on environment. Hence I recommend that an area of 0.0117 Ha. of Forest land in the Jakkanari Reserved Forests in Sirumugai Range of Coimbatore Forest Division may be diverted for laying water pipe line with the condition that this project should provide drinking water to the Mettupalayam and Sirumugai Forest staff quarters situated near to the Forest College.
