Since there is no alternate alignment and also the requirement of forest land is minimum which do not involve any felling trees, no effect to the flora and fauna in the forest. Considering to provide advance technology for the use of telecommunication by the rural sector the diversion of forest land is hereby justified.

The area proposed for the diversion of 0.063 ha. of Forest land in Pallikonda RF of Odugathur Range in Vellore Forest Division for laying underground Optical Fiber Communication OFC cable Vellore to Odugathur Main Road section across Pallikonda Reserve Forest. This road is a State Highways road which passes through Pallikonda RF to a stretch of 1.050 Km. The Airtel Telesonic Network Limited has proposed to lay the underground OFC cable to a length of 1.05 km. to a width of 0.60 mts. and to a depth of 1.00 mts. The proposed alignment of the OFC cable to be laid in the forest area is along the State Highways Road which passes through Pallikonda Reserve Forest. In the alignment proposed to lay the OFC cable there is no involvement of any felling of trees. Further, there is no rare, endangered and unique species of flora and fauna in the forest area proposed for diversion. Hence the proposal may be recommended.
