The proposed diversion area comes under the proposed Brahmani-Baitarani Elephant Reserve. During Crop period elephants cross the NH 200 in search of food. There is no adverse impact on wildlife point of view.

NHAI are proposing rehabilitation and upgradation of 4/6 laning of Chandikhole - duburi - talcher section of NH 200 in the state of Odisha. The NH 200 is an existing road with few stretches passing through forest areas in dhenkanal Forest division. It is not feasible to re align the existing road as it passes through forest areas for huse distance.
