The main object of this project is to rehabilitate the villagers from Pitanau West Hamlet situated in Hadagarh Wildlife Sanctuary. As the villagers are still continuous to be deprived from many welfare schemes due to poor communication infrastructure facilities like roads, electricity and irrigation etc. and as these cannot be developed inside the Sanctuary. Ultimately, these inhabitants would be laggard in the process of development in future. From the viewpoint of wildlife management, the influence of these people due to their activities is quite conspicuous and perceivable in the Sanctuary. These villagers are managing to enter into forests for grazing cattle, collection of NTFP, honey etc., thus competing with the local wild animals for space, shelter, food and water etc. Due to the genuine difficulty in villages, voluntarily these villagers have been pressing for their relocation outside the Sanctuary for better quality of life and development. Considering holistically the interest of these inhabitants, wildlife and habitats, the Government of Odisha has come up with Relocation guidelines for villagers/habitants located in protected areas who voluntarily desire to be relocated outside Sanctuary. As per the relocation package each eligible family would be given Rs. 10.00 lakh in cash and each eligible family would get 10 decimel of homestead land. The suitable revenue non forest land to this extent is not available under this Tahasil. Therefore, it is proposed to relocate these families in Plot No. 162 & 98 Khata No. 177 Abada Jogya Anabadi of Kissam Jungle – 2 Duee under Revenue Administration. By doing it people would get better opportunity outside for their development at the same time a required inviolate space inside the Hadagarh Wildlife Sanctuary, would be made available for the wildlife and conservations of natural resources including ecosystem services
