The Wildlife noticed in the proposed area are Elephant (Elephas maximus indicus) Wild Pig (Sus scrofa cristatus( Spotted deer ( Axis axis sxis) Hanuman (Presbytis entlellus entellus) Odha (Lutra perspicillata perspicillata) Gunduchi musa (Funambulus Pennanti) Thekua (Felis chous kutas), Birds like Bulbul (Pycnonotus barbatus) Parakeet (Melopsittacus undulates) Tentei (Vanellus malabaricus) etc., Snake like Dhandasapa (Enhydris enhydris ) Naga Sapa (Naga naja kothia) Tree snakes (Lycodon striatus) etc., Lizards like Jhitipiti (Hemidactylus brooki gray ) Endua (Hemidactylus maculatus) etc. ,Amphibian like Common Indian Toad (Bufo melanostictus) Skipping Frog (Rana cyanophlyctis )Marbled Toad (Bufo stomaticus ) India Bull Frog (Rana tigerina) etc.

The pipeline route has been fixed considering technical and economic feasibility of the project by GAIL India Limited. Since the proposed pipeline will be crossing Revenue along 15 villages of Laikera, Kolabira, Jharsuguda and Lakhanpur Tahasils respectively and 2 villages of Gumakarma and Khadiapali of Rengali Tahasils of Sambalpur district in the State of Odisha. As this is the most feasible route to connect the Aditya Birla Plant ABPL and Tata Refractories Limited TRL part of Jagdishpur Haldia Bokaro Dhamra Gas Pipeline Project, crossing of the forest area in unavoidable.
