The total forest land involved in the project is 17.836 ha. This includes 14.551 ha Baitarani RF and 3.285 ha DLC Forest. The proposed area is unavoidable and the barest minimum for the purpose of construction of Conveyor Corridor from Khandbandh Iron & Mn Ore Mine to Railway Siding of Joda East Iron & Mn Ore Mines. The submitted diversion proposal over 17.836 ha Forest land under Keonjhar forest division is forwarded herewith for consideration as per provision under section 2 ii of Forest Conservation Act, 1980 Amended with following recommendation. ? Site Specific Wildlife Conservation Plan with main focus to protection of elephants.
