Proposal for diversion 0.966 ha of Revenue Forest Land for installation of Pipeline over a length 1.931 Km for drawl of water from River Mahanadi to Boudh Distillery in Odisha is utmost necessary to run the Distillery unit. The Forest area proposed for diversion is the ultimate option as the pipeline has already been laid in the forest land. This is the only large scale industry in the district of Boudh which is mostly dominated by poor and labour class people. This will definitely create an opportunity for generation of employment in an around the Distillery. In addition to this industry may develop social security to the local people living around the project. Hence in view of the above it is recommended to accept the proposal.
