JharsugudaSambalpurDFO RecommendedThe proposal is for diversion of 417.073 ha of Forest land and 171.774 Ha of Land for Re Diversion Change of Land use Mineral based projects are site specific and the proposed project expansion area for mining by Integrated Lakhanpur Belpahar Lilari Open Cast Project 40 MTY is located on the forest area. The proposed area for the project has been proved to have a thick coal seam Lajkura, Rampur & IB available at shallow depth for opencast mining. The project is an amalgamation of three open cast mines namely Lakhanpur OCP, Belpahar OCP and Lilari OCP The existing Lakhanpur OCP has been planned to mine up to the upper Lajkura seam only, below which both Rampur and lb seam are left virgin. So, from sound conservation point of view, in this project, it is proposed to work the left out virgin deposits of Rampur and lb seam below Lakhanpur OCP. Also, to add life to the project, additional property to the dip side has been annexed. The projected gap between demand and availability by the end of year 2021 22 is projected to be 28.32 Mt from lb valley coalfield. Further new coal linkages have been given to MCL for which MCL has already issued LOA. The proposed integrated project will meet the coal demand from the coalfield, especially to the new consumers and reduce the gap between demand and availability.
SambalpurCF RecommendedDiversion of 417.073 ha. & Re Diversion Change of Land use of 171.774 ha. of forest land in respect of Integrated Lakhanpur Belpahar Lilari Opencast Project, 40 MTY of Lakhanpur Area.Yes
Nodal Officer RecommendedThe location of the site for coal mining operation fully depends upon natures deposit of minerals and geological structure of the coal seams. So, exploring of alternatives site for the purpose does not arise and justification to this effect has been submitted.
