The proposed project will help connecting far flung villages of the district and thus will help in socio economic profile of the district.

Widening and improvement of the Road Section will connect Manipur and Manipur, enhance road connectivity between far flung villages of the hilly District and increase socio economy the villages locating along the road. The proposal for diversion of 86.253 Hectare forest land is the barest minimum and unavoidable and therefore recommended subject to the following condition “As the proposed site is hilly terrain and moderately prone to soil erosion/land slide, adequate protection measures such as protection/retaining wall at vulnerable points may be constructed to avoid landslides towards the road”.

The road connecting Maram Peren proposed by NHIDCL is small is the only lifeline connecting one of the most backward area of the State. Lack of good roads connectivity has hampered overall development of the area. This is in public interest and it is hereby recommended.
