The diverted forest land are to be cut to widen the roads. Thiswould result in steep slopes towards the cutting edge. Proper soil conservation measures are needed to check erosion.

The Widening and improvement of Yaingangpokpi Nagaland Road Section of NH 202 into two laning with paved shoulder of 129.10 km from Chingjaroi/Razai to Jessami of 169.40 km in the State of Manipur on EPC Mode by NHIDCL would improve the socio economic profile of the people in an around Ukhrul District. The proposed area is unavoidable and barest minimum. So, it is recommended that forest land proposed to be diverted, may be made available for the construction of the road.
