Jiribam Forest Division,JiribtunWestern Forest CircleDFO RecommendedThe project is recomended for diversion because this will be a lifeline for people of Noney, tamenglong and Jiribam District.
Western Forest CircleCF RecommendedThe proposed road interconnects Manipur and Assam which will boost economic growth and poverty reduction which will bring substantial social and economic development in the region – Noney, Tamenglong & Jiribam. The project involved minimum tree felling and no significant adverse impact on the existing eco system is anticipated. The proposed area is the barest minimum and for public utility. Therefore, the project is recommended for consideration.Yes
Nodal Officer RecommendedThe proposed road will cover one of the most unreachable parts of the State inhabited by native tribes. Due to lack of proper roads, crucial development works including health infrastructures could not be properly established or accessed. The road will open up the remote areas of Tamenglong and Jiribam districts so that the people of these districts will have easier access to basic necessities of life and facilitate a wider variety of livelihood activities. This road will be directly connecting the under developed western part of Manipur State with its relatively more developed neighbouring State, Assam and it is expected that the improved connectivity between the two States will open up additional development avenues, particularly for economic activities by the local populace. Once completed the whole stretch of Imphal — Jiribam road will be an important lifeline for the State of Manipur.
