The proposed road interconnects Manipur and Assam which will boost economic growth and poverty reduction which will bring substantial social and economic development in the region – Noney, Tamenglong & Jiribam. The project involved minimum tree felling and no significant adverse impact on the existing eco system is anticipated. The proposed area is the barest minimum and for public utility. Therefore, the project is recommended for consideration. Hence, the proposal is recommended for clearance under Section 2 of the Forest Conservation Act, 1980.

The proposed road will cover one of the most unreachable parts of the State inhabited by native tribes. This road will connect the undeveloped western part of the State of Manipur with Assam. Due to the lack of all weather roads, crucial development works including health infrastructures could not be taken up properly in this region of the State. Once completed, the road will benefit the inhabitants of the area and their economic and social development will be accelerated. Hence, the project proposal may be approved.
