Northern Forest CircleCF Recommended Removal of blind corner and straightening of the approach road will reduce road accident and loss of human life. The proposed forest area of 0.37 hectare is barest minimum and is unavoidable. Being hilly terrain with moderate slop, exposed sufarce after removal of blind corner shall be prone to land slip. Protection measure such as protection/retaining wall shall be required to be constructed to avoid land slips during rainy season. The proposal is recommended subject to the following conditions a Boundary of the forest and diverted forest land may be demarcated by erecting boundary pillars at the project costs. b Soil conservation measures such as protection/retaining wall may be constructed at project costs to avoid landslides. c No labour camp shall be constructed inside the forest. d While removing the blind corner and straightening of the road, a huge quantity of hill earth is likely to be generated. The User Agency may be allowed to transport the excess earth, if any, with prior permit of the DFO, Kangpokpi and on payment of royalty etc according to Rule No.33 of the Manipur Forest Rules, 1971 and Hon’ble Manipur High Court Order dated 25.07.2018 passed in M.C. PIL No.29 of 2017 with PIL No.25 of 2017. Yes
