The proposed area falls under Compartment Number 28 of Ukhrul Forest Block. It is under Plantation Working Circle under the approved working plan.

The Mongsor Cave with the slope less than 10 degrees at the top and 40-45 degrees at the slope of the hill is not prone to erosion.
