The forest land proposed for the diversion of a 50 Bedded Integrated AYUSH Hospital & Homeopathy Medical Collage at Keirao Awaching is located near the Nongmaiching Reserved Forest, in a private forest land. The Hospital shall provide the much needed medical services especially in the field of AYUSH and Homeopathy in the state of Manipur and also provide opportunities to pursue careers in these fileds to the youths of the state of Manipur. Hence, the proposed diversion is recommended on the condition that the User Agency shall take care of the cut hill walls by providing concrete and vegetative re enforcements on these walls to arrest soil erosion.

The proposed site for construction of “50 bedded AYUSH Hospital and Homeopathy Medical College ‘’ has been choosen at the proposed site as sufficient non forest land in the vicinity of Imphal city is available. The area is a deemed private forest which was set aside in favour of one individual during the constitution of Nongmaiching Reserve Forest. The AYUSH Hospital cum Homeopathy Medical College is the first of it kind and will provide better health facility and career to youths. The proposal for diversion of 0.99 Ha forest land for construction of 50 bedded AYUSH Hospital and Homeopathy Medical College is recommended under the following conditions a The proposed site should be clearly demarcated from the adjoining reserved forest areas by erecting boundary pillars at the project cost. b Protection walls and vegetative soil conservation measures require to be constructed to arrest soil erosion.
