The proposed road alignment Nongjhiri – Maheskola located in South West Khasi Hills district as inspected on 12th February 2021 along with the DFO concerned and also representatives of NHIDCL and on compliance to the EDS raised made vide this office letter no. MFG.22/43/431/Vol I dated 15th February, 2021 and since the project is in public interest and being a national project this office recommends for clearance of the proposal i.e. Nongjhiri – Maheskola alignment under FCA 1980 and its corresponding guidelines. The number of trees to be felled may be restricted to the bare minimum as far as possible and restricted to the list reflected in Part – II of the FCA proposal recommended by the DFO SF&T Nongstoin.
