The proposal pertains to diversion of 0.489 ha. of Deemed Forest Land for construction of Science and Technology Demonstration Centre at NEHU Campus. This project would necessitate felling of 111 trees. Perused the views of the Conservator of Forests Khasi & Jaintia Hills Territorial in Part III. Considering that the diversion is required for demonstration and dissemination of technologies of rural development in the state, the number of trees to be removed shall be kept at barest minimum during the execution of the project. Hence, the proposal is recommended
