Due to the ongoing litigation with regard to the proposed Shillong Dawki road expansion along NH 40, a portion of land of the Bio Resource Development centre is being diverted and also the project proposal is related to the Promotion of the Indigenous system of medicine in Meghalaya, hence the Proposal is recommended.

The diversion of forest land is required for setting up of the Bio Resources Development Centre for the purpose of conserving and promoting the traditional practices in the State.
