The optical fiber cable OFC is crucial for the connectivity of the Williamnagar town and other parts of the East Garo Hills District. This project will also benefit the forest frontline staff in their daily forest protection duties due to enhance connectivity between the Beats, Ranges and Division Headquarters besides the improvement in connectivity for general populace. In view of the above benefits to the society at large, the project is hereby recommended.

Since the project does not involve felling of Trees and the OFC cable will be laid along the existing PWD Road and will not cause adverse effect on the Forest, Environment and Wildlife of the area and the project is crucial for improvement of the network connectivity in the Garo Hills Region which plays important role in development of the region as a whole. Thus, the Project involving laying of Optical Fiber Cable inside Songsak & Rongrenggre Reserve Forest by diverting 0.40458 Ha is Recommended. Yes
Nodal Officer RecommendedThe project proposal No. FP/ML/OFC/143459/2021 submitted by Telesonic Networks Ltd for laying of Optical Fibre Cable along Mendipathar Songsak Williamnagar Road passing through Songsak Reserve Forest & Rongrenggre Reserved Forest under East & North Garo Hills T Division requires diversion of forest land measuring about 0.40458 ha. As per recommendation made by the Divisional Forest Officer, East & North Hills T Division, Williamnagar and the Conservator of Forests T , Garo Hills Region, Tura, the project does not involve felling of trees and OFC cable will be laid along the existing PWD Roads and will not cause adverse effect on the Forests, Environment & Wildlife of the area. The project is crucial for improvement of Network connectivity and overall development in Garo Hills Region.] Hence, the proposal is hereby recommended with the above condition.
