The Proposal for of forest land of 11.09 Ha for Lime stone mining project by M/s Green Valley Cements Limited submitted vide proposal no. The proposed site located in East Jaintia Hills district Madan Pyrda, Chierruphi as inspected on 26th November 2020 along with the DFO T concerned and also representatives of Green Valley Industries Ltd., and based on the DFO T concerned reports and compliances by the user agency this office recommends for clearance of the proposed mining area measuring 10.71 Hectares and approach road measuring 0.38 Hectares totalling up to 11.09 Hectares under FCA 1980 and its corresponding guidelines. The number of trees to be felled may be restricted to the bare minimum as far as possible and as per the list reflected in Part – II of the FCA proposal recommended by the DFO T Jaintia Hills.

The proposal pertains to limestone project at Madan Pyrda, Chiehruphi Village, East Jaintia Hills District owned by M/s Green Valliey Industries Ltd. As per JIT – II report, the proposed land has been found to be a forest land deemed forest . As per the recommendations of the Conservator of Forests T , Shillong and the Divisional Forest Officer, Jaintia Hills T Division, Jowai the proposal is recommended subject to the approval of the State Government and Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change, Government of India under FC Act, 1980. Since, the matter is related to FC Act, 1980 appropriate terms and conditions may be applied to the project proponent as deemed fit. Hence, the proposal is recommended.
