Garo HillsGaro HillsDFO RecommendedAs the Water Resources Department wanted to construct small irrigation dam project across the small stream, it may benefit the farmers especially for paddy cultivation. The villagers can also take up vegetable cultivation once this irrigation project is implemented, however during the lean period, the level of water may not be sufficient as this small stream reduce the flow from November to April. However, villagers will be benefitted especially during the paddy cultivation season.
Garo HillsCF Recommended The Water Resources Department, Baghmara took initiative for construction of irrigation dam across the small stream inside the Reserve Forest near Dumnikura sub beat to store water and use it for irrigating the paddy cultivation. The submergence area is only 0.10 hectares of Angratoli Reserve Forest land and no felling of trees is involved. This project will supply water to about 28.00 hectares of cultivable area and will be benefited to 37 thirty seven families of Telekali village. Thus this project will not only enhance the annual income of 37 families but also improve the quality of life of population, enhance ground water recharge, provide water source for aquatic life for flora and fauna.Yes
Nodal Officer RecommendedThe proposal pertains to diversion of 0.1 ha. of Angratoli Reserve Forest land for construction of Telekali Flow Irrigation Project by Water Resources Department, Baghmara. The purpose of the project by the Water Resources Department, Baghmara inside Angratoli Reserve Forest is to supply water to the paddy field to uplift the economic condition of the farmers of Telekali Village.
