Working plan prescription for the forest land proposed for diversion :
NIL
6.
Brief note on vulnerability of the forest area to erosion :
The proposed area is dense forest with tree and pole crop. The area is generally susceptible to the erosion.

8.
Significance of the forest land proposed for diversion from wildlife point of view
(i).
Details of wildlife present in and around the forest land proposed for diversion :
Panthar is the only big cat and Barking deer, Wild Pig found in this area. Jungle Cat, Small Indian Civet, Common Palm Civet, Rusty Spotted Cat, Faunal Species are found in this area. Jackle, stripped hyena are quite rare. The Bonnet macaque is common in many parts. The Rhesus macaque & Hanuman Langoor occure in the area. Black headed gulls, stilt, harriers etc. are commonly seen.
(ii).
Whether forms part of national park, wildlife sanctuary, biosphere reserve, tiger reserve, elephant corridor, wildlife migration corridor etc. :
Yes
Details and comments on the impact of Project on such areas :
Positive impacts MMRDA project of 403-MLD bulk water supply will meet the growing demands of drinking water in the western sub-region of MMR. Proposed 403-MLD bulk water supply project will also ameliorate shortage of drinking water problem. The Forest Department & Protected Area staff would also benefit in overcoming the acute shortage of drinking water faced during summer. Forest Nurseries in this area would also benefit accordingly. Contribute to the income & employment creation opportunities in the local economy and sustainable development to the people of Palghar and Thane districts. Negative Impacts Likely negative significant incremental impacts due to the proposed project are negligible since the proposed project is largely underground. Impact to the wildlife in the underground strata during execution of the project is also likely to be not significant since the Project Proponent has proposed the use of latest technology in tunnel boring works which are proposed to be, on an average, 5.0m below ground level in ‘Non-PA’ areas and is about 5.0 to 30.0 metres in ‘PA’ area of Tungareshwar Sanctuary. Likely negative significant incremental impact due to the proposed project is negligible since the proposed project is largely underground.
(iii).
