The nearest point of the proposed forest area for diversion is 3.8 km from the Tansa Wildlife Sanctuary. But it will not have any adverse effect on the wildlife habitats of the Tansa Wildlife Sanctuary. Apart from this a Draft Notification to declare the specific ESZ around Tansa Wildlife Sanctuary is published in the gazette and the proposal to declare Final Notification of the same ESZ is under consideration of GOI.

NH 3 Shahpur Murbad – Mhasa – Karjat Khopoli NH4 section has been newly declared as National Highway 548 A by Government of India. The ministry of Road Transport & Highways MoRTH , GOI has decided to take up the development of Section – I – Shahapur Patgaon NH 548A in the state of Maharashtra for augmentation of capacity for safe and efficient movement of traffic by upgrading to Two Lane with paved shoulder configuration based on the traffic demand. This will reduce time and cost of travel for public. Moreover only 17.01 Ha. Forest area is diverted with no significant impact on existing flora and fauna so this proposal is recommended for acceptance and necessary approval in favour of the user agency.
