The area proposed for diversion is situated at the junction of the Western Express Highway and existing road which is known as Kulupwadi Road. Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai has sanctioned Road Line of 18.30 mtr. wide for this road. At this junction, a bottleneck is created due to existing staff quarters and boundary wall of SGNP creating a blind turn while negotiating and therefore causing hardship and hurdle to the vehicular traffic of local users, public transport and school buses during peak hours. Widening of Kulupwadi Road at junction will remove the bottleneck and thereby ease the traffic congestion.
