The proposed alignment is passing through the deemed and proposed ESZ of Thane Creek Flamingo Sanctuary. Also the proposed alignment is a road winding project and it is falling between the existing road bridges and rail bridge.The proposal of ESZ mentioned that activities of winding road which may be regulated or permissible activities only when roads necessary for effective management of sanctuary.the widening of road which would be helpful to access adjoining area of sanctuary.

The User Agency has highlighted that, the Vashi bridge also known as Thane Creek Bridge built across Thane creek that connects the city of Mumbai to Navi Mumbai. The bridge links the suburb of Manakhurd in Mumbai Suburban with Vashi in Navi Mumbai. It is one of the 4 entry points into Mumbai and handles traffic directed towards the region to the South and East of Mumbai. It was builtup 1973 for light motor vehicles. The current traffic is bound to increase because of increased traffic load over the period of time. Traffic at Sion Panvel Highway is expected almost to double by 2026. Congestion of traffice result into air pollution and emission of gases. Also the office commuters and workers are held up in traffic causing heavy loss of man hours and resultant loss of productivity. Hence it is recommended.
