6. Brief note on vulnerability of the forest area to erosion : their will be chances of soil erosion from the adjoning forest area. Hence the Project agency shall take necessory steps to control soil erosion.

 (i). Details of wildlife present in and around the forest land proposed for diversion : The SGNP, Borivali supports the following species of flora nad founal importance amoungst others.
 (ii). Whether forms part of national park, wildlife sanctuary, biosphere reserve,tiger reserve, elephant corridor, wildlife migration corridor etc. : Yes
  Details and comments on the impact of Project on such areas : Located within Sanjay Gandhi National Park.
 (iii). The user agency has already submitted proposal for approval of NBWL. The wildlife Mitigation plan is being prepaid and will be implimented. theirfore their will be minimum impact on willife of SGNP.

SGNP BorivaliWildlife BorivaliDFO RecommendedConsidering the public utility of project for connectivity, the proposed project is recommended subject to compliances of the following conditions 1 Depositing of 2% the project cost by the project agency for protection and conservation of the Sanjay Gandhi National Park SGNP as mentioned in NBWL proposal. 2 Getting prior permission of the State Board of wildlife SBWL and National Board of wildlife NBWL before commencement of the work in the proposed project area. 3 Getting prior permission of monitoring committee of ESZ of Sanjay Gandhi National Park SGNP before commencement of the road works in the project area. 4 Construction of cement concrete wall with barbed wire fencing on top of it along the boundary of the Sanjay Gandhi National Park in the patches of diverted forest area. 5 Conversion of all culverts in the Project into a Box type culverts 3mX4m so as to allow free movement of wildlife like Leopard, etc. 6 Construction of four Type II quarter buildings for field staff of SGNP as per the design provided by the SGNP Authorities on Survey No. 291 adjacent to proposed road. 7 Installation of four big bill boards Hoardings of size 4 metres length x 3 metres width x 5 metres height near the diverted forest land along the road and hand it over to SGNP authorities for displaying wildlife related education contents/alert messages.

The Land involved in the jurisdiction of Thane Forest Division is Private Forest Land. But Since the project is of Public utility and along with the proposed Forest land of SGNP It will help in easing out the traffic movement, their by reducing the vehicular pollution. The Project is therefore recommended for acceptance.
