The two stretches of the proposed road of Edaparamba Kolichal hill highway is passing through the forest area along the existing road. The major portion of the proposal is with revenue land. This project will be useful to the local people for fulfilling their needs like education, health emergency etc. the proposal will also enable forest department in effectively conducting patrolling and supervision of the forests. Hence the proposal is recommended. The following matters are suggested for ensuring better protection of the forest areas. 1. Proper stable fencing minimum 2m height along both sides of road at locations suggested by Forest Department officials shall be done by user agency in order to prevent intervention into forest area by travellers and to prevent waste disposals. 2. Awareness boards and CCTV cameras shall be placed at suitable location as required by Forest Department. 3. User agency shall ensure to carry out the work in eco friendly manner without creating much disturbances. 4. Proper drainage facility and land stabilization techniques need to be adopted in the proposed diversion area.
