Forest is not at present vulnerable to erosion. Minimum earth cutting is proposed during construction. So erosion will not be induced during construction.

Elephant, gaur, sambar deer, wild boar and porcupine visit the northern portion of the proposed forest land.

The project is a conservation oriented project. Elephants are kept in the Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre in teh natural habitat. So the project serves purpose ancilalry to wildlife conservation.

The proposal is for meeting twin objectives of managing human wild elephant conflict and welfare of captive elephants in the State. The State has about 3500 elephants in the wild and about 600 elephants in captivity.

Some of the very problematic elephants need to be secured and kept in controlled conditions in order to prevent further loss of human life and property. The orphaned and abandoned elephant calves also require proper shelter and care. This centre has been designed to provide the elephants with a semi wild habitat for maintaining their natural activities as in the wild.
