As the project is all along the existing road within the forest land and underground mainly, also its an important public utility which will not only providing drinking water and irrigation facility but also help in recharging ground water by way of filling 20 tanks, it will enhance the ground water profile of the forest areas also.

The proposal is recommended for the Diversion of 0.831 Ha. of Forest land for Construction Of Raising main pipe line and gravity main pipeline, Storage And Distributor tank provided for Drinking Water And Recharge Ground Water to fill 20 tanks in Shirhatti Taluk, Gadag Dist under Shirahatti Lift Irrigation Scheme in favour of EE,SLI Division, KNNL Mundaragi under the Forest Conservation Act, 1980. The project is linear in nature. This is Drinking water and recharge ground water project, No protected archeological/ heritage site/ defence establishment or any other important monuments are located in the proposed area. There is no violation of Forest Conservation Act, 1980, in the proposed area. Hence the area may be diverted as per Forest Conservation Act, 1980.
