Protection Working circle
6.
Brief note on vulnerability of the forest area to erosion :
Out of total project area from Cowdally to Thalbetta area is gently sloped with very minimal erosional effect. From Thalbetta to MM Hills erosional effect low to medium.
7.
Approximate distance of the proposed site for diversion from boundary of forest(in km.) :

8.
Significance of the forest land proposed for diversion from wildlife point of view
(i).
Details of wildlife present in and around the forest land proposed for diversion :
Elephant, Tiger, Indian Guar, Sambar, Spotted Deer, Leopard, Wild Dogs, Honey Badger, Civet Cat, Monitor lizard, Porcupine, Hare, Grizly gaint squirrels etc are the major wildlife present in the division.
(ii).
Whether forms part of national park, wildlife sanctuary, biosphere reserve, tiger reserve, elephant corridor, wildlife migration corridor etc. :
Yes
Details and comments on the impact of Project on such areas :
Since the area falls under major Elephant Corridor, the transmission lines which are passing through which requires clearance of the corridor will have impact on elephant and other wild animals movement and the humming sound which created by transmission line will have behavioural changes in wildlife. But current project proposes to use forest crossing towers which will be having minimum height of 44 mtr. This will enable no clearance of the corridor which will have no impact on wildlife movement. So that the forest crossing towers more suitable to sensitive areas like M M Hills Wildlife Sanctuary.
(iii).
Whether the forest land proposed for diversion is located within eco-sensitive zone(ESZ) of the Protected Area notified under Wildlife(Protection) Act,1972 (Note: In case, ESZ of a Protected Area is not notified,then,10kms distance from boundary of the Protected Area should be treated as ESZ):
Yes
Details of Protected Area and comments on the impact of Project on the ESZ :
M M Hills Wildlife Sanctuary is a 906.00 Sq.Km. with diverse vegetational types ranging from scrub jungle to semi evergreen forest. Sanctuary declared in the year 2013 and ESZ notified in the year 2017. ESZ area is about 14312.94 Ha. Current project which is starting from Cowdally to M M Hills falls within the ESZ of M M Hills Wildlife Sanctuary. The current proposed project which is a linear project will have minimum impact on wildlife movement.
(iv).
Whether any national park, wildlife sanctuary, biosphere reserve, tiger reserve, elephant corridor, wildlife migration corridor etc., is located within 1 Km. from boundary of the forest land proposed for diversion :
Yes
