Inspected the proposed area on 20 04 2022. The land requested for diversion in the proposal is the optimum required for 400 KV Quad D/C Transmission Line and is unavoidable. The alignment is proposed in such a way that forest area requirement is barest minimum. The User Agency has asked 400 KV Quad D/C Transmission Line only average 46 Mtr width Corridor stating that, the Transmission Line is passing through Tenkamijaru RF and Tenkamijaru, Badagamijaru, Kallamundkuru Village Deemed Forests. Accordingly, area is calculated and it is minimum. The land required by the User agency in the Reserve Forest and Deemed Forest measures 8.968Ha. in Kundapura division On inspection of the site, it is found that, the land required by the User agency is in Reserve Forest measures 1.066Ha. and in Deemed Forest measures 7.902Ha. The requirement of Reserve Forest area and Deemed Forest as proposed by the User agency in Col.2 of Part I is unavoidable and it is a barest minimum requirement for the project. It is fount that 830 trees are present in the area proposed for diversion. The User agency has to pay the NPV and also User agency has to bear the cost of raising of CA plantation. The 8.968ha. of forest area is recommended for diversion under the Forest conservation Act, 1980.

As, this project is proposed for construction of the transmission line project seems to improve overall power scenario without causing major damage of the forest and environment provided appropriate mitigated measures are implemented by the user agency as per guideline. The proposed diversion of forest land to the extent of 22.111 Ha under Mangalore Forest Division is unavoidable and barest minimum required for construction of 400 kV D/C Udupi Kasaragod Transmission line and therefore may be recommended for consideration

The proposed area 31.079 ha, falls under both Mangalore territorial division 22.111 ha. and Kundapur Division, Kundapur 8.968 ha . The proposed area to be diverted for Construction of 400 KV Quad D/C Transmission Line through Reserve Forest and Deemed forest of Puttur, Mangalore, Bantwal and Moodabidre Forest Ranges. This transmission line will serve the public for electricity requirement and increase the economy of the area. Hence it is justified that the area may be diverted to the user agency as per the Forest Conservation act 1980 after paying the necessary compensation and NPV value etc.
