the proposal is for school purpose. the area was under lease from government of karnataka since 1973. the land is having gradual slope barring two acres which has steep slope. the proposal may be recommended if additional soil and moisture conservation measures like retaining wall or trenches are carried out by the user agency on its own cost.

The total area proposed for diversion is 3.238 Ha of forest land in FSY.No.68 in Unkal village in Hubli Taluk which is unavoidable and bare minimum. User agency was in possession of this land, since 1973 when a 30 years lease was given to them. The lease was sanctioned by State Government prior to Forest Conservation Act, 1980. Proposal may be recommended for the diversion of above said forest area for Educational purpose in favour of Veman Vidyavardhaka Sangha, Hubballi, Dharwad as per Section 2 of Forest Conservation Act 1980.
