Partly the area falls within the plantation management working circle and partly within protection cum improvement working circle and predominantly is planted with eucalyptus trees.

In Haveri Division the area doesn’t fall within the Eco Sensitive Zone of Wildlife sanctuary and in Gadag Division the area partially falls within proposed Eco Sensitive Zone of Kappatagudda Wildlife sanctuary. Wildlife Conservation Measures as proposed by DCF may be implemented by the User agency. Deputy Conservator of Forests, Haveri Division has made an observation that User agency need additional area of 0.1827 Ha. for completion of road work and separate proposal need to be submitted for the diversion of additional area of 0.1827 Ha. Since the project is linear in nature and is upgradation of already existing road and also of public utility nature. No protected archeological/heritage site/defense establishment or any other important monuments are located in the proposed area. There is no violation of Forest Conservation Act, 1980, in the proposed area. Hence the area may be recommended for diversion with the precautions to be levied on User agency as per the recommendations of concerned DCF’s.
