Negligible as the area is a fragmented patch of Maukal RF and is surrounded by Coffee estates on three sides and bounded by a public road on the fourth side.

The proposed project area is needed for relocation / rehabilitation of tribal families living in interior forest areas of Nagarahole Tiger Reserve. The benefits of the project outweigh any damage to Mavukal RF by removal of 1940 trees from the proposed 22.8 Ha, the project may be allowed. The 22.8 Ha of Mavukal Reserve Forest requested by the User Agency towards providing land for rehabilitation of tribals from Nagarhole Tiger Reserve is recommended for diversion.
