Elephant, Tiger, Indian Guar, Sambar, Spotted Deer, Leopard, Wild Dogs, Honey Badger, Civet Cat, Monitor lizard, Porcupine, Hare, Grizly gaint squirrels etc are the major wildlife present in the division.

M M Hills Wildlife Sanctuary is a 906.00 Sq.Km. with diverse vegetational types ranging from scrub jungle to semi evergreen forest. Sanctuary declared in the year 2013 and ESZ notified in the year 2017. ESZ area is about 14312.94 Ha. Current project which is starting from Hanur to Kurattihosur falls within the ESZ of M M Hills Wildlife Sanctuary. The current proposed project which is a linear project will have minimum impact on wildlife movement.
