Recommendation regarding the forest area diversion for the proposal of “laying jio Digital Fiber underground OFC Cable along the road side Right of Way from Halady to Madamakki and Hebri to Varanga villages of Kundapura Forest Division in Udupi District in favour of Jio Digital Fibre Private Limited, Bangalore” The land required by the User agency in the Reserve Forest measures 0.759902Ha. in Kundapura division. On inspection of the site, it is found that, the land required by the User agency is in Reserve Forest measures 0.759902Ha. in Shankaranarayana, Hebri and Karkala Ranges in Kundapura Forest Division. The requirement of Reserve Forest area as proposed by the User agency in Col.2 of Part I is unavoidable and it is a barest minimum requirement for the project and no trees found in the proposed area. The proposed area for diversion falls in Westarn Ghat hills terrain, susceptible for land slide. The user agency should take up all necessary measures to avoid possible land slide. The area does not contain any protected archeological / heritage site and it is not marked area for defense establishment. The User agency has to pay the NPV and also to bear the cost of Other Charges. The 0.759902ha. of forest area may be considered for diversion under the Forest conservation Act, 1980.
