Working plan prescription for the forest land proposed for diversion :
The underlying Bauxite and Gneis occurring frequently in the area permit moderate growth. These forests have been felled repeatedly for fuel in the past; only coppice growth of Jane, pachali, Maradi, Tupra, Muthuga, Teak, Beete, Honne can be observed. Jalari is found in the sheltered pockets of the hills. Mining activities are more in these areas. Iron manganese ores are available in addtion to limestone

Excessive grazing and destruction of forest cover have accelerated soil erosion and formation of gullies.

The proposed land is not part of any National Park, Wildlife Sanctuary, Biosphere Reserve, Tiger Reserve, Elephant Corridor etc. The proposed mining area is 7.53 km and approach road is 7.70 km away from the Bukkapatna Chinkara Wildlife Sanctuary But the proposed mining area and approach road falls within the eco sensitive zone of Bukkapatna Chinkara Wildlife Sanctuary default 10 km if eco sensitive zone is not notified
